Well-being Team
At John Bramston Primary School we take the care and welfare of your child very seriously. All our staff are there for your child to talk to if they have a worry or a concern, but we have also set up a Pastoral Team and key members of staff who are there to support your child's emotional well-being.
We are delighted and proud to be re-accredited - first school in the borough - as a GOLD MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING SCHOOL. Please click here to read the Report.

Pupil & Family Well-being
At John Bramston Primary School, we are committed to supporting and developing the mental health and well-being of our whole school community, including pupils, staff and parents.
The World Health Organization (WHO) conceptualizes mental health as a “state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”.
Building strong mental health early in life can help children build their self-esteem, learn to settle themselves and engage positively with their education. This, in turn, can lead to improved academic attainment, enhanced future employment opportunities and positive life choices.
We know that outside of the home, school is often the most important consistent influence in children’s development so one of the best ways in which we can develop the positive mental health and well-being of our pupils is through working in partnership with parents.
School have an open door policy with members of the Safeguarding and Pastoral team available to support parents to improve mental health and to outline some of the potential risks their children can be facing which could have a detrimental effect on their health and well-being.
