Attendance Record of Governors
All Governing Body Meetings have been ‘quorate’ (the number of governors needed to ensure that legal decisions can be made); individual governors’ attendance at formal meetings is noted below.
Governors know the school well and get very involved, attending school functions and supporting school events, making Link Governor visits, volunteering for school trips and supporting the Home School Association. Furthermore the Chair of Governors regularly meets with the Headteacher.
Once a term governors spend a whole day in school; after our formal meeting there is an opportunity to visit classrooms and review the learning environment and talk with the children.
We also focus on key issues which this year included:
- Attending a presentation by the Article 12 Pupil Ambassadors on being a Unicef ‘Rights Respecting’ school; the
Ambassadors were very impressive in their knowledge and confidence. - Reviewed and extended our understanding of the School Development Priorities with presentations on ‘Talk for
Writing’ (English writing) by the children, Maths and Vulnerable Pupils. - Reviewing Assessment.
